I said that I was busy this past summer and one of the reasons was Jason (Kustom Persuasion) being invited to finish his build and race Snot Rocket at the Roadkill Nights 2018 street races in Pontiac, Michigan on August 11. I was a last-minute addition to the crew as a helping hand and photographer but I sure am glad I went along for the ride. Jason, Bernie and I rushed to finish the car on Friday (the day before the event) and it had all of the typical calamity that one would come to expect of us. The night before they were working hard and not getting too far with things. The next day I showed up and it was all hands on deck. Seriously, Jason was cutting up the hood and doing final adjustments just to get this pig onto the trailer. In typical dumb hillbilly fashion it started pouring rain during load up but Bernie and Jason soldiered on and made it work. We strapped it down, loaded up our things and hit the road. At last we were off to Pontiac to make our mark but not before covering the air cleaner with a taped-up grocery bag to protect it from the rain.
I realized the other day that I never finished editing photos from the 2017 Autumn Cruise held in Upper Sandusky, OH on September 23. Honestly, it was hot as Hell and I just didn’t want to remember that day. Nancy and I rode there form Cleveland, got sunburnt, walked for maybe an hour or two and then bailed. We ate some food (it was tasty), stuck to the shadows and I shot 54 photos—many of those being alternate angles of shots I post here. It was a beautiful day for the show, just not the best day for the show. Overall too hot and sunny to be standing under a clear sky on concrete. Regardless, we showed up, saw some cool shit and here is the proof.
This July 4th holiday weekend was supposed to be spent on the motorcycle and at the drag races but the weather has made that a non-starter. The drags are dry but it’s wet where I am so that was a no-go. Hopefully the rest of the weekend is a little drier and I get on the bike a bunch. As a consolation I offer these photos from the 2016 Autumn Cruise to the weather gods. Give em a peek and see some pretty stuff. This is the last round of photos so take them in and look ahead to possibly seeing more from later this year.
Well, well well…it has been a VERY long time since I’ve posted any car photos. There are numerous reasons for that: life, motorcycles, jobs, lack of quality computer, and more. I finally fixed one of those reasons when I recently bought myself a newly updated iMac. Lightroom is now running quick and smooth so I’m getting back in the saddle with these photos. Check ’em out and if you like something then give a comment. I’m working on potentially selling some photos from my various car outings. I hope that it can be a small revenue stream that also gets me out and about over the summer. If you are interested in a print then hit me up in the comments or by email/text if you know me personally.
I’m back with a few more photos from the recent Upper Sandusky Autumn Cruise that was held on September 24. There’s some good stuff in this collection. Shiny paint, bright chrome and colors abound. There’s even a bit of the Halloween spirit mixed in there. Check it out!
This is it, folks. The final set of photos from the 2015 Upper Sandusky “Autumn Cruise”. These are my picks as the best of the bunch. The top of the heap. The cream of the crop. Well, maybe they aren’t all the best but some are just favorites of mine and what’s the point of having a blog if I can’t be a little biased towards myself?
There are lots of good shots in here. Some full cars, some details, some interiors. You should know the drill by now. I love color photos of these cars but I’m a real fan of the black and white shots. I wanted to go with B&W so much more when editing all the photos but I had to show some restraint. There’s just something about old cars, the curves, the lines, chrome and adding that black & white look that just gets me. Maybe it just makes it seem even more classic.
Take a look and let me know of your favorites from this set or any others.
Naners and I hit up the Lakewood Car Kulture Show last weekend. Lots of good cars, sexy bikes and crusty people. It was a decent show but we got there around 3pm and the cars were already starting to roll out. There was not a cloud in the sky so I have no clue why these guys felt the need to get out of there so quickly. Also, it apparently shuts down at 5pm. Not cool. I don’t know if I’ve ever been to a car show that ended that early. Oh well. It was still packed with lots of good visual treats to take in. Hit the jump and check out a bunch of photos from the day.
